Dear me - what a year! I have say The First Pint has been the highlight for me ('it always is' I hear you quip!) Fun to do, great to read, refreshing to drink! Much as I love home, I can't wait to get back to London and enjoy it some more :D

It has been a year of changes, difficult to say which was the best moment.
Let's pick two: last August when I knew I was going to move to London within one month, and the day Inter Milan won the Italian football title (the 4th in a row but the sweetest so far).

and the worst? no doubt, when two people threw up on my clothes during the same night.

I wish you all a great and satisfactory 2010!

2009 was a big one for me. I graduated college and had an amazing final semester, spent the summer at home and actually enjoyed myself, and then shipped off to London where I've had the time of my life.

But I think my favorite parts have got to be returning (finally!) to Borough Market after talking about it nonstop for two years. Halloween was pretty damn good, the evening's faux pas aside. And of course, there's The First Pint.

So sure, 2009 may have been the year when print media headed down the toilet, but it's still been a pretty good one.

Can't wait to see what 2010 has in store.

My 2009 has been "best" since I moved to London, where I met fantastic people and friends.

September has been the beginning of a new, totally amazing life, and I am waiting 2010 to be back to it.

It is hard to pick the best among many London encounters, drinks and experiences, but I always hope that the best is yet to come!

Happy new year to everybody!

So many things!

I thoroughly enjoyed attending Wembley Stadium not once, but TWICE this past year to indulge in some truly terrific sporting events -- 1. the NFL brought their Pats vs. Buccs game to the UK (cheerleaders included...grr) and 2. The Saracens defeated the epic force of South Africa in an exhibition match.

The German Christmas Fair in Hyde Park was truly sensational. Bratwurst, muelled wine, and a ferris wheel that you could control the lighting and music in (not to mention dish out 8 quid for a ride) threw me into the christmas spirit.

Tea at Kensington Palace (the Orangery). and Harrods. basically afternoon tea in London has become part of my daily ritual. Scones, scones, and more devonshire cream please!!

Priscilla Queen of the Dessert. By far the most outstanding musical I've seen to date. Premiered in London in March 2009 and has yet to travel to Broadways and beyond. The costumes and music will put you in a feel good mood. Oh, and be sure to get a light up martini glass -- its FAB!

TOPSHOP. The most amazing place ever, and the prices really aren't too bad, especially when you bring along that tasty little piece of ID - your student card - to receive 10% off your purchase. Shwing!

The best moment of the year was the Global Engagement Summit in April of 2009, a conference I directed for young people with community development projects. So inspiring, so fun--www.theges.org

My best moment in London was during one of my first nights out with my course at the LSE. Everyone was engaging, friendly, and getting happily drunk.

Overall, though, one of the best moments of the the decade was November 4, 2008, when Barack Obama was elected President. Say what you like about him, but it was historic, and also my first time voting in a presidential election.

Best thing to happen this year? Got to be the birth of The First Pint :)
I hate to be all gloom and doom, but I've got a worst-thing too: The Fuckup'enhagen climate summit. Not only will the consequenses of it be on the 'worst-of-the-year' lists for some time to come. For the time being, it was also the year's worst waste of C02.

Happy New Year!

Ooooh, me next!

My favourite '09 moment has obviously got to be our launch party--never have so many wonderful people been sweatily packed into the Lexington on Pentonville (Angel) to kick off the birth of the most excellent site on the information superhighway!

A close second-place moment was discovering that kettles and hairdryers do everything quick-fast in the UK (thank you, higher-than-North-American voltage!)

Third, was realising that getting caught in the rain while running, although irritating and mood-fouling anywhere else in the entire world, is absolutely Nirvana-inducing in London.

We'll start! Our best moment has got to be starting—our launch date was over a month ago (18 November, to be exact) and since then, it's only gotten better. We have an amazing team and it's thanks to them that there's so much to find on our very young site!

As the year winds down, we're coming into an exciting time. London is getting a fresh wave of international students in 2010, and we're doing all we can to be their eyes and ears. The new year holds big things for us; we hope you'll come along for the ride!
