Islington music venue boosts headliners, not price
Come to The Old Queen's Head on February 19th!
The Old Queen’s Head in Islington will celebrate its fourth anniversary as a music venue with high profile performances, without raising their entrance policy.
On Friday 19 February, DJ sets will be performed by two of the top bands to watch in 2010: Foals and Chew Lips. Although impressive musical acts in London are no rare occurrence, The Old Queen’s Head stands out for their fan-friendly price of free before 8pm and £4 after, no matter how the calibre of artist fluctuates.
The bands will not be performing music of their own, but instead providing DJ sets as is common for Friday nights at the Old Queen’s Head.
“It’s a DJ club night. We’ve had bands such as Friendly Fires, Noah and the Whale, Late of the Pier, and The Maccabees,” said The Old Queen’s Head’s Ally Wolfe. “It’s a mixture of quality DJs and bands that DJ as well.”
Oxford’s indie darlings, Foals released their debut album Antidotes in 2008 debuting at #3 in the UK Album Charts. Chew Lips are releasing their electro-pop debut album, Unicorn, this week after heavy rotation around the Shoreditch area.
