A fancy affair – London’s Tweed Run

In what appears to be a nostalgic look at 1920s and 1930s transportation, The Tweed Run has competitors in London suiting up in pristine tweed jackets, bloomers, and flat caps.
In the second annual Tweed Run, taking place this Saturday 10th April, around 400 participants will complete the 14 mile bicycle race that has competitors moving their legs through London’s landmarks: Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. And how could one cycle in tweed without a spot o’ tea in Hyde Park?
Once cyclists cross the finish line at Bishopsgate, they will be rewarded with a celebratory 1930′s themed swinging party, with big bands and prizes for the best dressed gent and lady – and best moustache (open to both sexes!)
The event is now full, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up in your Sunday’s best and cheer on the old time masses.
This event is supported by Southwark Cyclists and the London Cycling Campaign.
