Free music, waterfalls and flights

Spiritualised, Damien Rice and Kjartan from Sigur Ros—wouldn’t that be a great line-up? Luckily all of them and a few more great bands are playing next week. Unfortunately, it’s in Iceland.

Yes, Iceland – land of zombie banks, volcanoes and debt refusniks. This of course is not how Iceland wants to be seen by the rest of the world, so they launched the ‘Inspired by Iceland’ campaign. It culminates next week with a free concert in front of one of Iceland’s most stunning waterfalls (rumour has it they have quite a few).

Why are we teasing you with all this tempting information? Because you can go! They have launched a Twitter-based competition to allow those people who aren’t lucky enough to be in Iceland to go. On offer: free flights, accommodation and of course the free gig.

To enter you just need to follow @icelandinspired on Twitter and send them a tweet explaining why you want to go to the concert – easy!
